Hellblade 2 Will Outshine First Installment, Says Ninja Theory Co-Founder

Having been acquired by Microsoft, Ninja Theory appears to be extremely optimistic about its future, and with valid reason; to have the support of such a company with an almost limitless repertoire, is genuinely encouraging. Hellblade 2’s development is also going well as it appears that the British company is aiming for greatness.

Tameem Antoniades, the studio’s chief executive, made a remark during an interview with NME. To him, it’s imperative that this new title surpasses its predecessor in every way possible.

“The goal with Hellblade 2 isn’t to perfect it but to create an experience that feels more believable and more refined. Its ambition in terms of scale is bigger. I think Hellblade 2 will make Hellblade look like an indie game.”

It’s also worth noting that the debut of Hellblade 1, which came out in 2017, was well praised for its sense of atmosphere and impressive visuals. There is no doubt in our minds that Unreal Engine 5 will play a role in its improvement.

Ultra-Realistic Weather and Rendering

So, while we won’t see giant Nordic creatures as in the Game Awards 2021 gameplay clip, Ninja Theory does have plenty of other elements that draw inspiration from reality.

Furthermore, Epic Games’ new Unreal Engine 5 and photogrammetry were greatly praised by the creators, as was the usage of photogrammetry and the game’s weather and sky technologies. Using MetaHuman technology, the designers will be able to create realistic face emotions and fine detail.

Release Date

To further this goal, the entire cast and crew relocated to Iceland, where they spent time immersing themselves in the landscape and working on a reconstruction that was as accurate as possible. Meanwhile, Melina Juergens, the actress portraying the heroine Senua, has been training hard in martial arts to effectively embody her role.

It’s safe to say that this game has piqued our interest. While a release date for Hellbade II has yet to be set, it will be coming to Xbox X|S and PC in the near future.

Since March 2021, I've worn two hats at Spiel Times: a writer and a Managing Editor. In my writing role, I've earned recognition from Wikipedia and Nev Schulman (Catfish TV Show host) for my insightful analysis and engaging narrative style. I'm passionate about all things gaming, with a keen eye for detail and a knack for uncovering hidden secrets within games. My gaming journey began at a young age, captivated by titles like Resident Evil and Tomb Raider. Today, I enjoy exploring open-world RPGs and MMORPGs, consumed by their lore and crafting theories about their narratives. I'm also drawn to the suspenseful atmosphere of horror games and the intricate narratives of crime-themed titles, bringing a unique perspective to my writing. Beyond gaming, I have a fascination with anything unexplained and chilling, a passion that often spills over into my exploration of horror games. When I'm not engrossed in a virtual world, you can find me curled up and spending time with my adorable doggy sidekick, Teemo. As Managing Editor, I'm committed to fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for our writing team. I communicate openly with my team members, addressing any content-related issues and providing guidance to help them excel.
