Helldivers 2 CEO Updates on 177 Delisted Countries
After PlayStation made it mandatory to have a PSN account to be able to play Helldivers 2 on Steam, the game has been a subject of controversy and wrath for PC players. The game was delisted in 177 countries without PSN access, receiving thousands of negative reviews and refund requests on Steam. While the matter hasn’t been solved yet, Arrowhead’s CEO has put in a small update for the fans.
When asked about an update on Discord, CEO Johan Pilestedt wrote, “Sorry no, I’m speaking to our partners at PlayStation and Valve and pushing for it to be undone. Getting the account linking took a herculean effort – but I won’t rest in my desire to have it available everywhere.”
While the update doesn’t allow any hope for Helldivers 2 players anytime soon, Pilestedt is trying to assure us they’re prioritising the matter. Sony said the move was to protect players, but over 177 countries don’t have access to the game anymore. We haven’t heard from Sony on the same since then.
Although the PSN mandate has been revoked after all the backlash, the delist process hasn’t begun yet.
We’re following the story closely and as there’s an update, we’ll make sure to inform you.
