Hogwarts Legacy, a fresh and bold Harry Potter role-playing game, was revealed in September 2020. However, not much is known about it. In the lack of official details, the game is surrounded by several speculations including a possible September 2022 release date.
WarnerMedia (the company in charge of distributing the game) promises that the game will be out in 2022. Moreover, an art book focusing on game assets provides us with further indications as to the launch date of the game.
“The Art and Making of Hogwarts Legacy” by Jody Revenson will be released via Insight Editions on September 6, 2022.
The game should ideally be launched around that time, as publishing the artbook while the game is still in development would be somewhat pointless. Also, September 1 is the date that students return to Hogwarts, therefore it makes sense to launch the game on the same day.

- Hogwarts Legacy is an action and role-playing game that takes place at the turn of the nineteenth century, long before the events that we have been able to learn or witness in the Harry Potter novels and films.
- JK Rowling, the author of the series, is not involved. A Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry student will learn a dreadful and frightening secret about the magical realm as we journey together in the game.
