With the release of Honkai Star Rail, Serval makes her debut as a lightning powerhouse in the sci-fi RPG. She is available on the Warp as a gacha unit, but most players will be able to obtain a copy of her from the Pre-registration reward. However, it has to be claimed from the game’s mailbox which you can unlock after completing a portion of the prologue.

As a beginner to the title, Serval is an important character to have as she will assist you to break down the shields of enemies that are weak against lightning. Moreover, She can deal AoE damage which is an added benefit. Thus, you must quickly complete “A Moment of Peace” quest to acquire her forever.

How to acquire a free copy
As mentioned previously you will be able to obtain Serval from the Honkai Star Rail pre-registration reward. However, you must complete “A Moment of Peace” which falls under the first Trailblaze Mission. This will unlock the mailbox from where you can claim her copy using the following steps.
- Hit Pause to open up the game menu.
- On the far right-hand side you will find the “Mail” icon, click on it.
- Now open the mail that reads “Honkai Star Rail pre-registration and social media follower rewards.”
- Click on the “Claim” button to acquire Serval, along with a bunch of other rewards.
As soon as you complete the process, her splash art will pop up on the screen and she will be added to the Character menu. You can also click on her icon to see her description which reads:
“A Belobog mechanic who used to be a researcher for the Technology Division of the Architects. As Gepard Landau’s elder sister, her personality stands in stark contrast to her brother’s. She loves an ancient form of music known as “rock ‘n’ roll” that was popular before the Eternal Freeze.”
Recruit Serval in the active team
At the beginning of Honkai Star Rail, you will have to make use of every character you have got. You will come across various shielded enemies which can be broken down using counter elements. Thus, having someone like Serval will be essential to your party to take down enemies that are weak against Lightning.
To recruit her to the active team head over to the game menu and click on “Team Setup.” Now, select any empty slot that is indicated by a plus icon. Then, choose the Serval avatar and click on “Add” to confirm the recruitment.
In case your Honkai Star Rail active team is filled, click on any character under “Team Setup”. Then, select her icon and click on the same “Add” button to successfully swap out a unit.
Serval is a capable 4-star character that harnesses the power of Lightning in her guitar. Moreover, she belongs to the Erudition path which makes her a strong AoE damage dealer. Thus, you should have her on your team while fighting against multiple enemies.
