Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree’s Rellana, the Twin Moon Knight is a warrior that got blades for days and a whirlwind of attacks that’ll make your head spin.
Begin at the Castle Front Site of Grace and make your way through the initial courtyard and into the castle. Continue through the castle, dealing with the enemies you encounter, until you reach the Castle Ensis Checkpoint Site of Grace. After the checkpoint, you’ll enter a chapel area. Progress through this section and be prepared for a possible invasion by Moonrithyll, Carian Knight. Beyond the chapel, you’ll find the Castle-Lord’s Chamber Site of Grace. This is the final checkpoint before facing Rellana. From the Castle-Lord’s Chamber, proceed to the nearby room. |
Phase 1:
Rellana’s a whirlwind of steel, but with a keen eye, you can predict their moves and dance around them like a pro.
- Dual-Sword Combos: Rellana unleashes rapid melee combos with her twin blades. Dodge-rolling towards her can help you avoid these attacks.
- Glintstone Arc: She fires a series of Glintstone projectiles in a fan-like pattern. Rolling through them is crucial to avoid taking damage.
- Spectral Swords: Rellana summons spectral swords that home in on you. Evade their attacks with well-timed rolls.
Maintain a moderate distance and be aggressive. Punish her openings after her combos. Her attacks hit hard, so prioritize dodging over blocking. If you’re a magic user, use elemental damage like Lightning or Frostbite, as Rellana is weak to them. Experienced players can attempt to parry her attacks, but be warned, it’s risky.
Phase 2: New Attacks
- Moon Drop: Rellana levitates and drops two moon projectiles followed by a ground slam. Dodge the projectiles by rolling and jump over the ground slam.
- Double Sword Slam: She performs a powerful downward strike with both swords. Roll to the side to avoid it.
Keep a safe distance during her Moon Drop attack. Be patient and wait for openings after her attacks to strike. Summoning spirit ashes can distract her and create opportunities to attack.
Gearing Up
- Grab something with good reach and a bit of a punch to stagger Rellana. Colossal Swords, Greatswords, or Halberds are your friends here.
- Poise and frostbite resistance are your best buddies in this fight.
- Blue-Feathered Branchsword for that sweet attack boost, Dragoncrest Greatshield for tanking physical damage, and Pearldrake +2 for non-physical defense.
- Flask of Wondrous Physick: Mix up a concoction to boost your damage or defense. It’s like a mid-battle energy drink!
