A new consumable item has been introduced in the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree known as the Hefty Fire Pots and Hefty Furnace Pots which are an essential tool in the game and have their specific purposes.
These craftable items provide a boost in both offensive and defensive power. Finding the required items for the Pots can be a time-consuming task, however, these Pots are worth the hard work, since the Furnace Golems are particularly weak against these items.
How to craft the Hefty Fire Pots and Hefty Furnace Pots in Elden Ring DLC
To craft any of the Hefty Pots, you will require the Greater Potentate’s Cookbook. Locate the first cookbook for Fire Pots by following the given steps:
- Head to the Scorched Ruins
- Face north and look for a set of stairs
- Eliminate the weak shadow and look for the corpse on the stairs to obtain the first cookbook
The second cookbook is located in the Gravesite Plain, guarded by a Furnace Golem. Follow these steps to get the cookbook:
- Reach the Gravesite Plain and locate the first Furnace Golem
- Try moving around the edges to avoid conflict
- Find the Three-Path sire of grace and head northeast to Ellac Greatbrige
- Find the Run-Down Traveler’s Rest under the Bridge and claim the second cookbook
The next step is to find the materials required to craft the Hefty Fire and Furnace Pots. You will require a Hefty Cracked Pot for both items. Additionally, for Hefty Fire Pots, you will require:
- Three Redflesh Mushrooms: Mostly found in forested areas, along riversides, and near water bodies
- Two Black Pyrefly: Found in burnt regions where fire has ravaged the landscape, near charred trees and scorched patches of ground
For Hefty Furnace Pots, you will need:
- Two Redflesh Mushrooms: Found in wooded areas, forested areas, and near bodies of water.
- Two Embers of Messmer: Found in the Scadu Altus region where there is a high concentration of magical energy
- One Furnace Visage: Can be found after defeating Furnace Golems, or by looting dead Furnace Golems and in areas like the jail in Fort of Reprimand.
Lastly, follow these steps to craft a Hefty Pot:
- Open the main menu and select the option that says “Item Crafting”
- Choose either the Hefty Fire Pot or Hefty Furnace Pot option from the list
- Make sure that you have all the materials available
- Select the quantity and you can craft your Hefty Fire Pots or Furnace Pots as required.
Where to find Hefty Pots in the Shadow of the Erdtree
To craft a Hefty Fire or a Furnace Pot you will need a Hefty Cracked Pot. These are generally found in the Shadow Realm in the hidden corners of caves, ruins, and enemy camps among various lootable objects
Common locations to look for the Hefty Cracked Pots in the world:
- Scorched Ruins: In the Gravesite Plains, you can find a Hefty Cracked Pot on a corpse lying on the walkway.
- Bonny Gaol: Head to Bonny Gaol in Scadu Altus, where you can claim the pot once you defeat the Innard monsters.
- Cerulean Coast: Defeat the pot-throwing giant to claim a Hefty Cracked Pot.

How to use Hefty Fire Pots and Hefty Furnace Pots
Hefty Fire Pots and Hefty Furnace Pots can be used to damage the Furnace Golems by these items into their basket.
To do so, you will either have to reach a spot that is higher than them to throw the item, or you will have to bring them down to their knees by attacking their legs, or the crit spot on their face.
However, it’s worth remembering that using these Hefty Furnace Pots and Hefty Fire Pots is completely optional while fighting a Furnace Golem in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree.
