Zenless Zone Zero was launched on the 4th of July and it focuses on a fast-paced combat system. Later in the game, you will experience a game mechanic called the Perfect Assist, which allows you to evade the enemy attack and land a counter dealing massive damage.
This guide will explain the process of performing a Perfect Assist and give you an overview of the various assists available in the game.
How to do a Perfect Assist in Zenless Zone Zero
You need to generate Assist Points to trigger a Defensive or an Evasive assist based on your character. Generate these points by continuously attacking your enemy making various combos as well as making Chain attacks.
Once enough Assist Points are generated and conditions are met, a golden light or a prompt will indicate that you can perform a Perfect Assist now. You can trigger the assist in the following ways on different performs:
- For PC: Press the Spacebar when you see the golden light shine at the moment the enemy attacks.
- For PS5: Press the R2 when you are prompted during an incoming attack.
- For Mobile: Tap on the infinity sign when you are prompted once the enemy attacks.
The moment you perform a Defensive assist, you hit attack to do an Assist follow-up. This can inflict huge damage on your enemies and turn the tide of the battle in your favor.
What are the different types of assists in the game
The four types of assists available in the game are:
- Defensive Assist: Perform the defensive assists to fill your Daze meter and perform heavy counterattacks.
- Evasive Assists: Perform the Evasive assists to enter a Vital View state where you can perform massive damage on counter attacks.
- Quick Assist: Once the character is launched into the air, you can perform the Quick Assist which helps in regaining control.
- Assist follow-up: Press the attack button the moment you have triggered an assist to perform the follow-up.
Some common mistakes while performing an assist are mistiming the action and losing assist points. Combine the Defensive and Evasive types of Assist to deal massive damage to your enemies and beat them easily.
