Set decades after the original movie, “I Am Legend 2” featuring Michael B. Jordan and Will Smith in the cast, was announced last year as a sequel to the 2007 post-apocalyptic film. Smith will reprise his role as Dr. Robert Neville, with Jordan joining the cast.
Although as of now, there is no proper confirmation on how Jordan’s character will be fitting into the storyline.

In a recent interview with Deadline, Akiva Goldsman discussed his new first-look agreement with Warner Bros. and provided a positive update on the progress of two projects: I Am Legend 2, starring Smith and Jordan.
“This will start a few decades later than the first I’m obsessed with The Last of Us, where we see the world just post-apocalypse but also after a 20-30-year lapse.” Said Goldsman.
Goldsman, the writer and producer, stated that the two films are currently being fast-tracked. Additionally, he divulged some important plot details, including that the I Am Legend sequel will be set decades after the first movie and will draw inspiration from The Last of Us.
How will it fit with the original film’s ending?
We all were confused by the leaked alternate ending of I Am Legend back then in Youtube. That has been a major topic for anyone discussing I am Legend 2 ever since 2007.
Goldsman revealed some significant details about the timeline and plot of I Am Legend 2. The sequel will be set decades after the first movie and, as many had speculated, it will follow the alternate ending of I Am Legend, in which Neville survives.
