ID@Xbox March Showcase: Indie Games to Look Out For

Microsoft launched their ID@Xbox Showcase last Wednesday, March 16. The showcase ran for over 90 minutes and it showcased both current and upcoming releases from indie developers. Many titles featured in the ID@Xbox Showcase are included in the Xbox Game Pass. But among all of them, we’ve compiled a few of the games players should keep an eye out for.

Tunic

Developed by Andrew Shouldice and Finji, Tunic is an adventure game where you play as a fox. The gameplay seems to be similar to that of Legend of Zelda where you embark on a journey filled with exploration and discovery. Moreover, your fox is equipped with a sword and a lantern to ward off enemies and shine your light along the way where life is meant to take you. Furthermore, Tunic is included in the Xbox Game Pass for both Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.

Escape Academy

The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in many in-person activities getting canceled for safety measures. Among these is solving escape rooms with your friends. Escape rooms require being clever and teaming up with each other to solve the mysteries behind the rooms.

But because of COVID-19 restrictions, the team behind Escape Academy came up with a new game that features a wide array of virtual Escape Rooms you can solve with friends. Moreover, actual escape room experts designed the rooms in this game so you should prepare yourself and your problem-solving skills.

The game features single and multiplayer modes to put your skills to the test. Additionally, you can play the multiplayer mode online or split-screen co-op.

WrestleQuest

WrestleQuest stars late WWE superstars Andre the Giant and Randy Savage. From the trailer, we can see that it is a light-hearted role-playing game that has a lightness to it. It could be the game’s retro style, or it could be the fact that beloved wrestling icons are present and it just adds to the nostalgia. Whatever the case may be, WrestleQuest should definitely be on your list for games to look forward to.

As of writing, there is no release date yet but check back on their official website for future updates.

Paradise Killer

And finally, Paradise Killer was one of the highlights in the ID@Xbox Showcase. The widely acclaimed detective game is finally available on Xbox consoles as it was initially released for both the PC and the Nintendo Switch in 2020. You play as a detective assigned to a murder case in Paradise Island. The game gives you complete freedom on which direction you’d like for your investigation to go in. So definitely check out Paradise Killer if you haven’t yet so you won’t miss out on a great indie game.

These are only some of the titles presented in the ID@Xbox Showcase. Check out other game trailers on the event’s official YouTube channel or their Twitter account.
