Is Street Fighter 6 open world?

The latest installment to the Street Fighter franchise: Street Fighter 6 is certainly a game changer for the fighting game genre. Street Fighter is undoubtedly considered one of the best fighting game franchises ever made. With SF6‘s release just around the corner, players are hyped up on a whole another level. One of the best features that Capcom will be introducing in-game is the open-world mode. This new feature will be the game-changer in the fighting game genre. Due to SF6’s open-world feature, it will not only see the return of SF veterans but a lot of new players will be joining the bandwagon because of the World Tour. Let’s take a closer look at it.

World Tour: Street Fighter 6 Unleashes Open World Adventure!

As mentioned by Capcom, the World Tour mode will allow us to create our own original fighter. Upon creating your character, you will find yourself in Metro City.

  • It is a bustling urban hub within the expansive World Tour of Street Fighter 6.
  • It was also seen in the trailer that our character can travel across the city, challenge street fighters, and brawl with them for certain rewards. While we don’t really have all the information about this mode as of now, it’s always fun to speculate.

Everything we know about the Open World mode in Street Fighter 6

Character Creation

Gamers love some degree of character customization in games. Capcom knew this. Hence, they have introduced the feature of character creation in SF6 where we will be able to create our very own fighter who will embark on a journey to become the greatest fighter.

You’d be able to change not only the physical attributes of the character you make but also choose their battle styles. You can mix and match different battle styles of the legendary roster of characters in SF6 and create your own unique style.

Game Progression

Just like any other open-world game, you will have quests to complete in Street Fighter 6 too. Upon completion of quests and brawling with other fighters on the street, you gain experience.

Gaining experience is mandatory to level up your character’s basic stats such as vitality, punch, kick strength, etc. Another interesting feature is the Skill Tree. As you gain experience, you earn skill points, too. You can use these skill points in order to unlock other skills.

Shops

Capcom will also be introducing shops where your character can purchase gear and food items. Each shop will have unique merch available in them. Make sure to visit all of them.

Masters

During your epic journey, you will find legendary characters whom you’re already familiar with. These characters will be taking you under their wing and trail you. You will get to learn new attacks and battle styles from them.

These masters are also in the roster of other playable characters in Street Fighter 6. You can also fight alongside your master after you have established a deep bond with them. This is a great way to introduce the legendary roster of characters of SF6 in the open-world mode.

Capcom still hasn’t revealed a lot of details regarding this interesting new game mode. What we can do is wait for the game to release and test the new features ourselves. I’m sure they won’t be disappointing.

The World Tour mode is certainly going to be one hell of an experience. With interesting quests, fun NPCs to fight with, and legendary characters Street Fighter 6 will surely be one of the best fighting games released in this generation.
