On Sunday afternoon, James Jaronczyk left the Tres Palms waterside restaurant. He used his 22-foot Progression speedboat and left around 4:30 P.M. However, a witness mentioned that when they looked up, they saw Jaronczyk hit a rogue wave. These waves are unusually large, and unpredictable surface waves. And unfortunately, when the boat stabilized, the boater was nowhere to be found. Shortly after the incident, the Coast Guard received a call about the boater in the waters.

After 34 hours of continuous search reaching approximately 1,000 nautical miles, the Coast Guard halted their search mission on Monday. The weather and marine conditions were ideal around Sunday to Monday which allowed them to search for hours, according to the Coast Guard.

News12 reports that the family still remains to have high hopes and hopeful hearts that James Jaronczky is alive. We send our prayers and hope as well for the safety and whereabouts of the missing boater.
