If you’ve noticed lots of sex assault cases lately, here’s why: the Adult Survivors Act — which created a 1-year look back window for claims outside statute of limitations — expires tmrw.
ASA resulted in thousands of cases incl against Diddy, Cosby, Weinstein, CAA, Jamie Foxx…

Previously, Foxx was accused of se*ual misconduct, by allegedly hitting the face of the unnamed victim with his genitalia in 2018. Foxx refuted the claims and vowed to launch a countersuit to clear his name. The case was closed as the statute of limitation had run out thirteen years ago.
The recent rise in high profile se*ual offense reports is due to New York City court opening a window for victims to get justice regardless of the statute of limitation. This window is going to close on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at midnight. Until then new cases may come to the surface.
