Kyrie Irving requests a trade from the Brooklyn Nets “again”; Which teams are already showing interest in Uncle Drew?

Kyrie Irving

Another drama filled the league as Kyrie Irving wants out of Brooklyn, again. Kyrie had just requested a trade from the Nets’ front office. Despite being named an all-star starter this year and the Nets playing championship-level basketball with him and Durant, Kyrie still wants to be moved to another team. Irving, 30, is already in the last year of his contract with his current team. That means, by the end of the season, he will be an unrestricted free agent. Kyrie has already expressed his desire to play for another team, and with the trade deadline coming to a close, the Nets have to move now or they will lose him for nothing in the offseason. Now that news has broken, which teams are already eyeing Kyrie Irving before February 9?

Los Angeles Lakers

Ahhh, the Los Angeles Lakers. Currently sitting 12th spot in the west, the Lakers are definitely not looking good.

Even at the start of the 2022-2023 season, they have been trying to move Russell Westbrook out of the team. However, that did not happen, yet. Less than a week before the trade deadline but LeGM is already on the move.

Add that with Kyrie expressing his plans to play with his former teammate again in the future, there’s a very high chance we will see Irving suit up the purple and gold. According to reports, Anthony Davis and Austin Reaves are untouchable to any trade proposal. This leaves us guys like Russell Westbrook, Dennis Schroder, Patrick Beverley, Lonnie Walker IV, and Thomas Bryant as potential assets. If this trade pushes through, we will finally get to see a Kyrie and LeBron reunion, as well as the return of the Westbrook and Durant duo.

Dallas Mavericks

Luka Doncic has been asking the Mavericks for a proper co-star for a long time now. The previous Doncic-Porzingis failed miserably. This season, guys like Spencer Dinwiddie and Christian Wood aren’t still enough. There were rumors of a Zach Lavine trade but Dallas isn’t biting the Chicago Bulls superstar.

With Kyrie shaking the league once again with his latest trade request, he could be the perfect guy the Dallas Mavericks and Luka Doncic have been longing for. However, that would mean Dallas would have to consider giving up Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, and some picks in exchange for Uncle Drew.

Los Angeles Clippers

It seems that the Lakers aren’t the only team in Los Angeles that are interested in Kyrie. Kawhi Leonard has openly told the Clippers’ front office to acquire a star point guard. They have reportedly targeted players like his two former teammates Fred VanVleet and Kyle Lowry. Names like D’Angelo Russell and Mike Conley are also being thrown into that conversation.

But now that Kyrie Irving is the biggest fish in the market, Clippers are most probably on the lookout. If they acquire Kyrie, that would be an upgrade to an already impressive roster the L.A. clippers have. Teaming up a trio of Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Kyrie would break the league. That is if they all stay healthy and no drama ever happens in the locker room.

Miami Heat

Can the Heat afford to lose some of their reliable stars for a chance to get Kyrie? The 30-year-old superstar wants a max deal. With his current level of play, he has proven he deserves the bag.

But, who are they even willing to sacrifice? Obviously, they won’t be including the all-star center Bam Adebayo in the trade package. Kyle Lowry won’t also be accepted by the Nets since he is on a $30 million per year contract.
