League of Legends 11.16 Patch Notes - Early Details

League of Legends patch 11.15 was launched just days ago and we already have some early information on patch 11.16. The previous two updates were all about the Sentinels, the Ruined King, Viego, and Akshan but this time it’ll be about a new batch of Coven skins and Sona rework. So, let’s take you through all we know about it in detail.

Champion Skins

The theme is based on the alternate universe which centers around some dark deities’ attempts to return to the world. This dark deity is challenged only by the light of the eclipse. This theme results in new skins for 7 champions and the names of the skins are:

COVEN SKIN
Ahri Ashe Cassiopeia Warwick Malphite
Evelynn (Legendary Edition)
LeBlanc (Prestige Edition

Sona Rework

Some fans had suggested that changes done to Sona in season 10 were not fair to the character and hence, the developers seem to have reworked the character. Her passive will undergo a solid boost and she’ll have a new addition to her power chord named “Accelerando”.

  • Sona will gain Accelerando stacks from using her Basic Abilities well and will also gain +0.5 Basic Ability Haste. Upon reaching 60 Basic Ability Haste, her current Ultimate Ability’s cooldown will be reduced by 1.5 seconds. So, basically, 60 is the Basic Ability Haste cap and after that, her ultimate’s cooldown time would be reduced.
  • Apart from this, after using 3 basic abilities, Sona’s next attack would deal an additional [20-245 +20% AP] magic damage. It may also have an extra effect based on the song Sona last activated. This adds a great amount of damage and makes her character more powerful and useful.
  • Next, her Hymn of Valor attack would now deal [28-336 +28% AP] magic damage; Song of Celerity would slow down the target by [40% +0.04% AP] for 2 seconds, and Aria of Perseverance will make them deal (25% + 0.04% AP) reduced damage for three seconds. Also, by using Crescendo, she will stun enemies for 1.5 seconds and deal [150/250/350 +50% AP] magic damage.

Bonus

Aside from these two major aspects, we have also received information that:

  • Your Shop is back on the PBE. Your shop will offer a personalized sale on champion skins based on match history, with six offers available.
  • Riot has noted some changes for Graves based on his Sentinel skin.
  • To make sure the skin is fair compared to the other ones, and for better clarity overall,  his older skins will be updated to match the hitbox.
  • Patch 11.16 can also provide players with more buffs to the game’s newest addition, Akshan.

League of Legends patch 11.16 is due to go live on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. There is still a fair amount of time to go till then, and we are sure we’ll receive more information about the patch in the coming week.
