Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is undeniably one of the biggest releases this year, and it’s not just because you can play as either Peter or Miles. Aside from improved web-swinging features and a larger map, we see both old and new faces in the story. Unfortunately, not everyone will make it to the end of the game. All Character Deaths in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
A handful of characters meet their demise in the game, with some deaths happening onscreen while some are hinted at through clues that Insomniac has left for players to discover. Here are all the characters who die in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Onscreen Deaths
Scorpion
To display his immense strength and unwavering desire to prove himself as the world’s greatest hunter, Kraven shows New York City why they should fear him. As Scorpion breaks out of The Raft, he goes head to head against Kraven the Hunter, who easily overpowers Scorpion. Despite his poisonous tail stabbing Kraven in the shoulder, it wasn’t enough to bring the Hunter down.
Moments before he is killed off in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Kraven snaps off the tip of his tail and expresses his disappointment when Scorpion couldn’t live up to his potential as a killer. Then, Kraven uses Scorpion’s weapon against himself and stabs him. This is also the part when Peter puts the pieces together; Kraven is not gathering supervillains to make an undefeatable team. He’s tracking and hunting them down as his prey.
Kraven the Hunter
After successfully hunting and taking out the powerful supervillains in Marvel’s Spider-Man, Kraven has fulfilled his goals and is ready to die. During one of the few moments we see the world through Venom’s eyes, we fight against Kraven, whose strength doesn’t come close to the Symbiote’s. Eventually, the fight ends, and Venom throws Kraven against one of the large billboards in New York City.
Kraven knows what’s about to happen, and before Venom proceeds to bite his head off, he thanks Venom and willfully surrenders. This also marks the moment when we realize there is a bigger threat in New York, and Peter, Miles, and MJ must do whatever it takes to stop Venom from fully corrupting and taking over Harry’s body.
Scream
We never thought we’d see the day Peter and MJ work through their relationship issues by throwing each other around and ruining a perfectly good neighborhood in the process. Nonetheless, it was a delight seeing Scream, another variation of the Symbiote, appear in the game. After Venom infects MJ with it, Peter throws hands with her, and they fight for a good amount of time.
When the boss fight ends and MJ successfully gets the Symbiote off of her, it disappears into thin air. Judging by how Peter and MJ reacted to this, it seems they successfully killed Scream.
Venom
The last boss fight in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has Peter (as the Anti-Venom), Miles, and MJ doing whatever it takes to kill Venom and save Harry. At first, this proved to be a tough job for the trio, especially when Insomniac leaned more into the comic version of Venom, where he was dubbed as the King in Black.
After a long boss fight, Peter uses his Anti-Venom powers while trying to spare Harry from dying. This proves to be successful, but at the end of the game, it is revealed that Harry fell into a coma. There’s no telling if he will wake up, but Norman Osborn seems to have something up his sleeves. Will we get Carnage in the next game? Only time will tell.
Off-screen Deaths
There are three off-screen deaths in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and MJ is the one who comes across all the hints pointing to the demise of Shocker, Vulture, and Electro. All three supervillains were victims of Kraven’s hunt across New York City. Kraven has kept their iconic possessions and displayed them in his base to symbolize his success in bringing down these supervillains. We can find Vulture’s wings displayed as a trophy in Kraven’s base, while Shocker and Electro’s equipment are seen lying around in the same location.
