What is Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is an attraction and theme park ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida and Disneyland in California. It is an endless ride that takes guests through a zany and wild adventure with Mickey Mouse and his friends.

• Based on the recent award-winning Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts, the ride features iconic characters such as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy and Pluto.
• The ride begins with participants watching a brand-new Mickey Mouse cartoon titled Perfect Picnic. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway starts with guests entering the cartoon studio where they board the train for a wild adventure.

• During the ride, guests experience a variety of environments and scenarios, such as racing through a cityscape, exploring a secret hideout, and dodging obstacles.

Opening date and ticket cost

The ride is located in two exclusive Disney theme parks: Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida, and Disneyland in Anaheim, California. 

• It was first announced as part of the D23 Expo in 2017. The attraction was first opened at the Hollywood Studios in Florida’s Disney World in March 2020. At Disneyland, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway opened to the public on January 27, 2023. 
• The ride costs $8 in Florida’s Disney World whereas the new one in Disneyland costs $20 on Individual Lightning Lane purchase method. Before you book the ride, make sure you have the Disneyland app downloaded and ready on your phone.

• Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway features more hidden Mickeys than any other ride. Compared to the one at Disney World, the new one in Disneyland features a bonus room, a superior queue, and a more organic setting in the El Capitoon area.

Ride experience

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is a highly immersive and interactive ride that transports guests into the world of Mickey Mouse Cartoons. The ride starts with a visit to the cartoon studio where the train departs on a wild adventure.
