Monster Hunter Rise x Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration begins this very month! Yes, you heard that right! Capcom and Sega made an official announcement confirming the same. This brand new collaboration will star some of the new features of Sonic the Hedgehog gear meant for the hunters and also will include a new event quest!
This event is a celebratory event marking the 30th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog. The team has not unveiled the exact details of this event. However, they assured us that this event will be available to play by the end of November.
Monster Hunter Rise games are no stranger to featuring crossover events. Additionally, Sonic the Hedgehog is definitely the first for this company; it is their first game that will collaborate with an entirely independent game.
Previously, the game had starred Okami, Megaman, Street Fighter, and Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection events, all of which were from Capcom itself. Earlier, Sonic the Hedgehog featured in MonHun for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate which was on Nintendo 3DS. This collaboration was an interesting one as it bought together Sonic with Super Mario as Palico costumes which were part of a free DLC package.
Crossover
Capcom also posted about this collaboration announcement news on their official website and that they will fill us in more details soon. The developers have explicitly mentioned that the designated team is working hard to make the Monster Hunter Rise x Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration the best and “as fun as possible”. This also is a way of saying that they have no such information to showcase of how the content of this collaboration might look like.
Hope we haven't been too slow on this one. Congrats, @Sonic_Hedgehog, on an amazing 30 years!
Let's celebrate in #MHRise with a collab this November!

Monster Hunter Rise is currently available for the Nintendo Switch immediately. The PC version is slated to arrive by 12th January 2022 but sadly there is a catch that it will not possess the “cross-play or cross-save” option with the Switch version.
