Netflix: Top 4 Healing K-Dramas That Give Off Welcome To Samdal-ri Vibes

Netflix’s Welcome To Samdal-ri just ended, and we can’t help but wish for more! With that, we found our top four healing K-dramas on the streaming giant platform to continue our light-hearted Samdal-ri. The recent K-drama got everyone hooked on the beauty of Jeju while having the perfect ensemble for each of their characters. If you finished Netflix’s Welcome To Samdal-ri, we have a few suggestions for you here!

Healing K-Dramas For Fans To Enjoy

Two Netflix Korean dramas concluded over the weekend, and we remain stuck with the fantasy, mystery, and romance-comedy of My Demon and the life, family, and romance-comedy of Welcome To Samdal-ri. We’re confident you want more, too, so we’ll deliver the healing K-dramas goods to you, fans!

1) Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha

This would never miss any healing K-dramas list, as Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha gave us the feels. From a big city life to a small village near the seaside, this slice-of-life series has all the elements that warm (and hurt) K-drama fans’ hearts.

It is a simple and heartwarming tale of dentist Hye-Jin (played by Shin Min Ah) and the all-around Chief Hong Du-Sik (portrayed by Kim Seon Ho) as they meet in Gongjin and how they change each other’s lives. Get ready to fall in love with Gongjin and its people, especially the elders!

Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha remains one of the most favorite healing K-dramas of viewers, and we agree, too. If you missed this one last 2021, make sure to watch it now!

2) Run On

Another in this list of light-hearted and healing K-dramas on Netflix, Run On is a must-watch. This could be considered an underrated drama from way back in 2020, but if you would like to see Yim Si Wan and Shin Sae Kyeong in a romance drama series, along with SNSD’s Choi Soo Young and Kang Tae Oh, here it is!

If you have seen clips of this K-drama on X or TikTok, it’s probably a sign for you to watch (or rewatch) Run On. Oh Mi Joo (Shin Sae Kyeong) is a movie translator. Yes, she speaks in English, and national sprinter Ki Seon Gyeom (Yim Si Wan) meets in this love story.

It’s different from those who transfer to a small village type of K-dramas, as it consists of sports star’s limelight, known families, businesses, and such. With all that involved, just how calm Run On is? See for yourself!

3) Summer Strike

Yim Si Wan could be the greenest flag guy in the world of healing K-dramas, and Summer Strike showed that. After his Run On drama, another underrated slice-of-life romance comedy K-drama welcomed Yim Si Wan’s fans in 2022. This time, fellow idol-turned-actor starred with Si Wan in Summer Strike, AOA’s Kim Seol Hyun. Honestly, they give off an introverted-like love story, especially with how their strangers-to-lovers trope began. This is a personal favorite K-drama, BTW!

Another series that started with one of the main leads, Lee Yeo Reum, leaving her city life to find herself in the small town of Angok, where An Dae Beom is a local librarian. It is a journey of finding oneself and a chosen family in an unknown area and how certain things need to happen for you to see the bigger picture. Shin Eun Soo is also here for those who loved her in Twinkling Watermelon.

If you have been feeling tired of life and all its aspects, then you may try watching this one. It’s somehow close to My Liberation Notes, especially with the lines of the female leads. If you need some healing K-dramas to watch while you rest, Summer Strike it is. The drama also has this sudden mystery as it nears the ending, so watch out for that.

4) Reply 1988

Of course, the 20 episodes of Reply 1988 will always be an icon to the list of healing K-dramas up until this day. Well, it could be that the Reply series walked so other healing K-dramas could run. There’s this warmth in the Ssangmundong neighborhood and the intense missing once you finish the K-drama. It feels like you also grew up with the five leads, Deok Sun (Lee Hye Ri), Jung Hwan (Ryu Jun Yeol), Sun Woo (Ko Gyung Po), Dong Ryong (Lee Dong Hwi), and Taek (Park Bo Gum), along with their families.

This may not be the best Reply series for everyone, but it sure holds the hearts of many viewers of the show. The ensemble perfectly portrayed the characters, and each of them had their spotlight in the K-drama. A story of family, friendship, love, day-to-day life, and all in between, you can catch it on Reply 1988. It may be longer than 16 episodes of the usual K-drama, but you wouldn’t want to miss this gem!

  • Runner-up: Our Beloved Summer

Need we say more about this? All the elements? Check. This 2021 drama should be put on the list of healing K-dramas, even if it tore our hearts apart and made it whole again. Take your time to watch Our Beloved Summer and see what people loved about the drama — it’s everything, actually.

We’re still missing Samdal-ri, so we would like to hear other healing K-dramas from you for us to watch! Share them with us and all the readers below, and happy watching!
