The Devs of The Last Of Us, Uncharted, and Days Gone, comes together to create a new AAA Web3 game, Ashfall. You may view the Tweet here! Also, the newly-built company, Liithos, promises an AAA-level of production in their upcoming debut game.

Liithos is a newly-formed AAA gaming and entertainment studio led by PlayStation. Ashfall, which the studio said, becomes the “first true Web 3.0 AAA title for PC, Console, and the Hedera network”.

Michael Mumbauer and John Garvin, two known developers of PlayStation, head the studio in making the newest game. The story of Ashfall sets to begin with a digital comic series written by John Garvin himself.

Ashfall and its world is coined by Garvin. The concept of this AAA Web3 game sets in the world of global warming, the volcanic Ring-of-Fire, disruptive energy fields, and warring enclaves, where players battle to survive the world of Ashfall.

Moreover, it is set to be starting as a Single Player adventure, which then transforms into a Multiplayer PvE and PvP transmedia world.

Speaking of the transmedia world, it is still a curious thought about what Mumbauer and Garvin intend to do with the studio, as other gaming outlets guess that they are much interested in this called “cinematic transmedia world”.

In line with this, Liithos plans to add the Hedera network to the AAA game, which is a blockchain alternative called hashgraph. This allows players to buy, sell, and trade within Ashfall.

“Michael and I have worked together creatively for almost two decades and this is our chance to create something really new and exciting. It’s like getting the band back together,” John Garvin says in a press release.

He added that their goal is to create an open-world experience that joins with the newest technologies to offer more user-generated content.

Nonetheless, everyone is still in a line waiting for the details on how their technology works, the gameplay, and systems, and also, a Web3 game (and, some are quite doubtful of the NFTs too, nowadays).

But let’s wait and see what Liithos has in store for Ashfall!
