According to their announcement, the GPT Store was dropped “to help you find useful and popular custom versions of ChatGPT.” Yes, OpenAI already released the newest feature, so you can check it out now.
Instead of finding a custom chatbot in search engines, OpenAI made the store to keep all the ChatGPT versions in one place. So if you need help in writing or editing photos, or even wondering about your next tattoo, you can find a custom version chatbot for that. - Why aren’t the custom chatbots free to use? Builders can earn from their GPTs, and that’s one (or the main reason) why the GPT Store is under paid subscription. According to OpenAI, a GPT builder revenue program will be introduced in Q1, and for now, US builders will be paid based on user engagement.
