Poppy Playtime 3: Deep Sleep | Trailer Breakdown – Are you part of the experiment?

MOB Entertainment just released their latest Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 trailer, and a lot of questions are being raised by the fans of this series. In this article, we will talk about what you might have missed in this epic horror game trailer.

1. Smiling Critters

• Toys giving us a glimpse into Poppy Playtime ‘Orphanage’ life. Watch a toy pig eating, then suddenly getting soaked – like a weird water torture called waterboarding.
• Another toy shows off its artwork, but a mean one swaps it with math equations. The commercial concludes, and in a split second, it reveals the eight members of the Smiling Critters.

• They’ll make another appearance around 40 seconds into the clip and on the upper left, Bron is seen lifeless and hanged.

• About 1 minute and 25 seconds into the clip, a member of the Smiling Critters is seen pursuing the player, hinting that the Smiling Critters will have significant importance in Chapter 3. Their story is yet to unfold.

2. Subliminal Messages

•  “The following message is for all Playtime Company Employees”. This implies something huge happened within the company and alerted all the employees. Then a message popped out saying “Have you heard the news?”
• Poppy whispering “Find the Flower”:  As previously discussed in our article “From Humans to Toys”, Poppy’s whispered message, “Find the Flower,” resurfaces in the trailer. This cryptic message implies the crucial importance of the Poppy flower insignia.
• “These Children Have Suffered” and a voice from an unknown individual saying “That ‘thing’ CatNap”
• “The prototype is his God, and this is what he does to heretics” – Recall when I wrote about the super boss body? this is it. All the defeated toys will be combined into one super boss body which clearly shows that the Prototype will be the Final Boss. After this voice recording, a caged humanoid is shown. An individual is saying that they treat the Prototype like a God, and this is how they deal (torture) with people they see as nonbelievers or ‘heretics’.
• These Children Grow Hungry – Poppy: “What’s happening down here is bigger than all of us, I need you (player)”
• These Children Are Saved – Poppy: “So we can get revenge on those ‘monsters’ who tortured you (player), who tortured us” – Is the player an experiment as well?
• The Hour of Joy Arrives, Celebrate, Rejoice, Sleep – Poppy: “Prototype has to die, for this, for everything…”

3. Concentration Camp

Around 30 seconds in, they show a small house. Look closely, and you’ll see it’s inside a metal enclosure. This implies that the supposed orphanage is like a concentration camp for kids. The next clip shows inside the house, with lots of beds.

4. The Gas Mask

The gas mask makes a reappearance, and as the trailer progresses, you’ll notice it is used to enter specific areas inside the Playtime Co. to progress. It seems there’s a kind of ‘dangerous gas’ leaking in certain parts of the Playtime Factory.

5. Prototype Revelation

The trailer now clearly shows the Prototype with parts of old defeated toys from earlier Poppy games combined into it. Huggy Wuggy, Mommy Long legs, and Bunzo Bunny (left arm), PJ Pug-a-pillar (head).

6. Caged ‘Humanoid’

This is just an assumption, but perhaps this is one of the human experiments that ‘escaped’ during the process and was tortured when it got caught. A possible backstory of Huggy Wuggy before turning into the big blue beast we got all scared of during Poppy Playtime Chapter 1.

7. Huggy Wuggy Possible Return

After the humanoid clip, a puzzle game was introduced, and on the TV screen, Huggy Wuggy was revealed. Could this be a hint that we will see once again one of the most feared antagonists of this series?

8. Chapter 3 Boss – CatNap

A huge cat that has a similar vibe to Huggy Wuggy. Standing from a distance, a silhouette of the possible main boss of Chapter 3 was shown.
