Quantic Dream Developing A Star Wars Game, According To Rumors
Quantic Dream might be working on a Star Wars sequel for almost 18 months. Quantic Dream SA is a French video game developer and publisher based in Paris. Founded in May 1997, Quantic Dream has developed five video games: The Nomad Soul, Fahrenheit, Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human.
Detroit: Become Human has released in 2018 but no updates and follow-ups about it came in the news.
If the rumors are to be believed, Quantic Dream studio has involved the developers of the Detroit: Become Human in a project for the upcoming Star Wars game for around two years.
Is the rumor true?
As reported by a French YouTuber named Gautoz, Quantic Dream studio is planning on signing a contract with Disney as soon as their contact with Sony ends. The YouTuber claimed in his video that Quantic will be working on a Star Wars game.
Tom Henderson, a known industry insider, alleged that a source of his happened to have mentioned the same thing. He asserted that Quantic has already spent 18 months on the development of Star Wars. Though the announcement is not made official by Quantico, still the fans are already elated for a more action-focused experience.
Kotaku confirmed the statements by Tom and Gautoz with a detailed description. It attested that Quantic’s latest project is a departure from its standard narrative-heavy formula. Rather, Star Wars will offer players open-world settings and multiplayer options making it an actioned focused game.
Job Listings
- Furthermore, Quantic Dream Studio is investigated to have released job listings for a competitive senior game designer (with prior experience in managing a meta-database in LiveOps) along with a listing for a senior level designer who can work in an open environment game and/or a multiplayer game.
- Apparently, Quantic is smart enough to not reveal the project title for the job listings but the players have set up their expectations regardless.
