Red Dead Redemption 2 Physical Copy Turns Out To Be Defective: Report

Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 comes out for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. If you like to have digital games, there’s a digital copy for you. But if you’re a physical box collector, you can have your choice. One of the reviewers who got a physical copy, later found out that his copy was defective and after installation, the game won’t launch.

YouTuber Skill Up wrote on Twitter, “Turns out my copy of is defective. RIP. It gets to the end of the installation of the first disc, and then it says ‘Application cannot be opened’. I cannot continue installation on the second disc. Installing on a PS4 Pro 500m Ltd. Hope it’s not a common error.”

As Skill Up said, it might not be a common error. However, if it isn’t the case, then physical copy buyers should start worrying. I myself ordered a physical copy of the game, but also has a digital purchase, just in case things go awry.

Skill Up later posted another tweet, in which he mentioned that he’s now downloading the game on an Australian ADSL1 connection, which will allow him to dive into the wild-west experience, “by the time Red Dead Redemption 3 comes out.”.

Is it a common error? We don’t know yet. Spiel Times has contacted Rockstar Games to comment on the issue. We’ll update this article as soon as we have some information.
