Remnant 2: Hotfix Patch Notes August 2023 | What’s New

Remnant 2 developers released their first hotfix patch notes on August 2, 2023 for the Xbox Series X/S. The game has managed to sell out 1 million units within just 4 days after its launch date. The achievement is astronomical when compared to its predecessor Remnant: From the Ashes which achieved the same number after a time period of 2 months from release. The popularity of the series is greater than ever with increasing player count. As a result, its developer Gunfire Games was quick to introduce a patch note update in order to fix the bugs while introducing few necessary changes as well. This article is going to list all the new in-game improvements thanks to the hotfix patch notes.

What is Remnant 2

• Remnant 2 is a Soulslike third-person shooter where the player journeys through a post- apocalyptic world, defeating supernatural enemies along the way. The game contains a variety of biomes where the player would find menacing bosses that drop lucrative rewards when defeated.
• The shooter supports online co-op for a group of up to 3 players. Unfortunately, the game does not feature cross-play. The story progression takes place only in the host’s world, however all the squad members share the loot.
• Remnant 2 boasts a wide variety of upgradable armors and weapons. It also has many hidden areas and puzzles that offer exclusive rewards. The game follows a class based system as well where the players get to choose a class of their own at the start. Every class or archetype has their own unique weapons and skills.

Remnant 2 developers were quick to gather feedback from the early access players and implement it into their first hotfix for the Xbox Series X/S. The major new changes include the reduced frequency for the in-game voice chat and the option to turn motion blur on/off via the settings menu. Along with that, the new build 1.0.0.9  contains several bug fixes as well. Below is the list containing all the new changes and improvements within the game.

[GENERAL]

• Toned down the player VO comments.
• Added option in menu to turn motion blur on/off.

[FIXES]

• Progression Blocker Fix for Labyrinth cinematic crashing and key not being awarded.
• Progression Blocker Fix for exiting out of first lab cinematic and not receiving the zone door keys.
• Progression Blocker Fix for Water Harp lever no longer working
• Progression Blocker Fix where Nightweaver Web would consume items you need for quest puzzles. If an item was consumed it should now be back in your inventory.
• Added fix for Ultimate Edition players not receiving Gunslinger Engram in game if they didn’t start with Gunslinger.
• Added fix for player possibly becoming invisible when using Labyrinth portal.
• Added fix to prevent host’s save getting changed if they quit out the game while dead and then joined someone else’s game.

Remnant 2 Platforms

Remnant 2 came out on 25th July, 2023. The game was made using the Unreal Engine 5 and came out only on next gen consoles like the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S. It was released for PC (Steam and Epic) as well.
