Genshin Impact: Leaks Reveal Upcoming Selfie Event and More

Genshin Impact’s 2.6 update is set for March 30th, which is three weeks away. Besides Kamisato Ayato’s official release, leaks reveal possible events coming in Version 2.6.

Data shows ‘Selfie Event’ coming in the 2.6 update.

It’s no surprise that with every Genshin Impact update, travelers will have new events to take part in. In the past, travelers took part in events like the Golden Apple Archipelago, Lantern Rite Festival, and A Study in Potions. In Version 2.5, two of the five events are already playable.

According to posts in the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit, we can expect more events in the 2.6 update. And one of these is the ‘Selfie Event’ that leakers speculate will release around the same time as Ayato.

‘Outside the Canvas, Inside the Lens’ is the selfie event in 2.6. According to Genshin Intel, travelers need to “take 14 selfies at various locations.” But the challenge in this event may be the mechanics Genshin Intel revealed in their tweet. “You need to aim the camera at a certain direction and capture the moment of your attack/skill/burst/idle.”

Furthermore, each selfie grants you 30 Primogems, 20,000 Mora, and 2 Hero’s Wit. So it’s likely that the event will give a total of 420 Primogems, 280,000 Mora, and 28 Hero’s Wit.

Besides the selfie event, more leaks show interesting events scheduled for 2.6 update.

Compared to the current patch, it seems 2.6 has a lot in store for travelers based on the leaks. There are three more events coming aside from the selfie event:

  • Hues of the Violet Court (Irodori Festival)
  • Spices from the West
  • Vibro-Crystal Research

Leaked screenshots of the Irodori Festival show characters from Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma interacting. Although the screenshots don’t have any dialogue that might give context to the event, it seems likely that the event will involve another story quest.

Will the Golden Apple Archipelago have a rerun?

Because of its popularity, it’s likely that the Golden Apple Archipelago will show up in future updates. Leaks in the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor Discord server mentioned that it may have its rerun in Version 2.8. Events like the Lantern Rite Festival (2.4) and Hyakunnin Ikki (Phase II of 2.5) have their reruns, so it’s not impossible for the Golden Apple to appear again.

Though these leaks are from reliable sources, we cannot be too sure if these events are legit until HoYoverse themselves announce it. It’s advisable for travelers to always take information like these with a grain of salt.

Moreover, the 2.6 update won’t drop for a few weeks. In the meantime, travelers still have time to complete The Three Realms Gateway Offering and Divine Ingenuity events.
