Finally! A full circle moment happened on the last day of the 2023 MAMA Awards as SEVENTEEN won their first Daesang in their nine-year career. All their hard work paid off as singer-actress Uhm Jung Hwa announced the Album Of The Year winner, and this is where the full circle began. All 13 members were present at the 2023 MAMA, including S.Coups, who was previously injured. Uhm Jung Hwa was given the opportunity to present the Daesang winner, and interestingly, she gave a standing ovation to the group when they performed on Immortal Songs in 2018 and have supported them ever since.

The singer-actress smilingly said, “It’s finally them, everyone. It’s finally them,” and we could say that there is no better way to present SEVENTEEN as winners aside from Uhm Jung Hwa’s lines.
To end the full circle moment during their awarding, while the group was sharing their gratitude and acceptance speech. The cameraman perhaps did their homework and focused on the crying LE SSERAFIM’s Sakura and Hong Eun Chae. What gave everyone teary eyes and a crying moment was when the group stepped on stage for their speech. Almost everyone talked and thanked, but these were the few speeches that had people bawling. The leader, S.Coups, gave honor and gratitude to their fans, the CARATs.

The8 spoke in Chinese, looked back at their nine years, and finally realized the moment of their dreams. “My dream in the future is to be go on with you for a long time,” he ended his speech.

When Woozi went up to the microphone, we didn’t expect to see a nearly crying Uji. As a group with many members, people said they could not make it. Wonwoo, whom CARATs know that he lost his mother this year, made everyone cry with his speech. He simply thanked their fans and said, “Thanks to CARATs, I have one more thing to brag to my mom. Thank you.”

And lastly, Boo Seungkwan let his tears flow freely, and so we did, too. Boo made sure to thank all the artists who gave fantastic performances and hope that they could all continue to support one another in the future. But, what everyone did not see coming was Seungkwan thanking his friend, the late idol Moon Bin, in his speech. He ended his speech by saying, “This year was eventful.. but thank you to my friend Binnie, who has always loved and supported our team. Thank you.”

Audience and Fans React To SEVENTEEN And Their Daesang
There was no other perfect way to celebrate the first SEVENTEEN Daesang with a Weverse Live. After the 2023 MAMA Awards, the group gathered once again in their casual clothes and turned on the live to interact with CARATs. Not everyone’s reaction was shown on camera at the Tokyo Dome, but we’re confident that fans inside have been teary-eyed or crying during the acceptance speech.
