Global Shortage
The PS5 just last month achieved a great achievement. Sony announced on the 18th of July, that it had sold 10 million PS5s, 8 months after its launch on November 12th. Between the global epidemic and continuous chip shortfalls, Sony recognized this as a significant achievement. It has now outsold the PS4 by nearly a month, making it Sony’s fastest-selling console to date.
Naturally, under regular industry conditions, the PS5 could be doing even better. Due to a massive global stock shortfall in semiconductors, availability for each model remains to outstrip supply. The console products of Sony aren’t the only devices having trouble; Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa previously cautioned that decreased products on the Nintendo Switch could last longer.
