System Shock 2 set to be re-released with new enhanced edition
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of System Shock 2, Nightdive Studios, has announced that they will start work on an enhanced edition of the game.
Nightdive Studios is currently also working on a remake of the original System Shock.
In an announcement on Twitter, the developer said: “You asked for it and we are working on it.
Not many other details are known at this point so far, but Nightdive Studios’ System Shock 2 has gone on to become a cult classic since its original release back in 1999.
The game is a first-person survival horror set aboard a starship in the year 2114, it tasked players with dealing with an infectious outbreak that was more than meets the eye.
Fans of the series can not only look forward to a re-imagined game but also a full new game – System Shock 3 – set to be released in the future.
