Take Two Asks Modder To Shut Down “Red Dead Redemption PC Remaster” project
DamnedDev had been working on a Red Dead Redemption PC Remaster Project. The aim of the project was “to remaster and optimize the game to run and look better, from within the Xenia/RPCS3 emulators”. However, it seems like the project can no longer proceed further.
The modder mentions in the original post that the project has been halted. He assures that a video will be made explaining the circumstances which led to that, however, he is not very happy about this whole incident. This is a direct result of Take Two getting in touch with the modder and asking him to shut down his project.
While many may ask the reason behind Take Two’s move, this is probably due to the fact that the original game wasn’t meant for PC. The modder not only enhances the game’s performance on a platform which it wasn’t meant for in the first place, it also aims to enhance the textures. The game being a property of Take Two, gives them the right to take actions against it. It’ll be interesting to see what the modder mentions in the video.
