Target stores are, once again, receiving stock. From our usual sources, it’s now confirmed that a reasonable number of Target stores around the country now have the PS5 in stock and we can expect a drop this week.
Update (7:47 AM EST): Target dropped.
Stores around the Southwest and Midwest regions have received stock and each store has around 12-24 PS5 units on hand. This time around, there are more PS5 Disc versions in stock compared to the Digital.
Update (6:17 PM EST):Â Target will drop the PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles during their usual morning time frame on Wednesday, i.e., April 28. This information comes from our usual sources and it seems plausible considering the last Target drop was on a Wednesday as well. We’d still recommend keeping an eye out from Tuesday-Thursday.
Update (10:11 AM EST):Â Stores in the Northeastern region have stock as well. Some stores have received up to 3 shipments last week.
Although Target stores have 24 units in stock, they likely won’t sell all of them as Target doesn’t want to overcommit to their customers. They want to avoid issues during these drops and have a fair share of units for backup.
Some stores have had stock since the last drop, so, stay sharp.
Keep in mind, if you try to scan the PS5 barcode on the self-servicing machines on the sales floors in Target stores, they will no longer show the real on-hand units. Rather, it will show 0 units in stock.

YouTuber and PS5 tracker Jake Randall also tweeted on April 22, that more and more Target stores are receiving both PS5 and Xbox units by Monday, i.e., 4/26.
Keep an eye out for a Target drop soon. We’d say, stay up from 4 AM EST to 8 AM EST from Tuesday through Thursday, just in case.
