Team Orca Dota 2 Disqualified, Players Banned; Here’s Why
Dota 2 team Team Orca has been disqualified from the DPC SEA 2021/22 league. Players of the team along with players of Team Apex have been banned. Here’s why.
SEA DPC League tweeted a thread elaborating the situation. The authority found Team Orca players using Team Apex accounts, competing on their behalf in the league. Upon further investigation, the authority found Team Orca being involved in match-fixing. This happened in several third-party tournaments throughout 2021 and the major BTS Pro Series.
Valve has decided to permanently ban all players in Team Orca and Apex from their events. Here’s the list of players –
- vtFaded – Cheng Jia Hao
- 闷油瓶 – Wang Liang (王亮)
- Yif – Zhou Yifu (周一夫)
- citrus (AhJit) – Lai Jay Son
- Gy – Wang Kok Guan
- Hunghung – Bùi Văn Hùng
- BrayaNt – Pang Jian Zhe
- QWE – Namir Mohammad
- Datbb – Nguyễn Thành Đạt
- JJ – 杨俊杰

Fans noticed a suspicious disconnect-reconnect from Team Apex in a match. They found out that the accounts that logged back in were from a different location and had a better ping. Fans suspect the players were Ahjit and vtfaded. The organizer, however, hasn’t confirmed the details as of now.
