The Last Of Us Part II Has Become The Fastest-Selling PS4 Exclusive
Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II has officially become the fastest-selling first-party exclusive for Sony. The game has sold over 4 million copies in its first three days, breaking records of previous best-sellers God of War and Marvel’s Spider-Man.
We estimated that The Last of Us Part II sold around 4 million copies in its first 3 days, based on GameStat.com’s data. Today, PlayStation officially confirmed the same.
God of War sold 3.1 million copies in its first 3 days while Marvel’s Spider-Man sold 3.3 million. To release those figures, however, Sony took 2 whole weeks. In the case of The Last of Us Part II though, they released the figures in just a week.
This shows how confident Sony is with The Last of Us Part II’s sales, despite the widespread backlash regarding the game’s story and bold decisions.
We reviewed The Last of Us Part II and gave it a 9/10 rating. The game sits at a 95 Metacritic Critic score while the User Score is an abominable 4.6/10.
