The Quarry: First Look at ‘Until Dawn’ Devs’ New Horror Game

The team behind Until Dawn is coming out with a new game called The Quarry. After the game was announced for release last March 17, players are anticipating what’s to come in this new horror game. 2K posted a first look at their new horror game, The Quarry. Read on to find out more.

The Quarry revolves around mysterious events taking place after a summer camp ends

In the official prologue gameplay posted on 2K’s YouTube account, it opens up to a couple driving through a dark highway. A few minutes in, we find out that they’re counselors on the way to Hackett’s Quarry. Judging by the camp’s name, it’s pretty obvious that the place is spooky.

Unfortunately, their GPS fails and they find themselves lost. Moreover, the couple makes the poor choice of getting to the summer camp one night in advance. Obviously, things go very wrong for them after they swerve off-road.

QTEs are making a comeback in The Quarry

Throughout the entire gameplay, there were QTEs (quick time events). If you’ve played through Until Dawn, you would know how much quick time events affected the whole game.

Aside from making decisions on the spot, QTEs are integrated with small actions like catching a phone from falling. Moreover, Quick Time Events can affect the game’s story no matter how big or small they may be.

Although some players find QTEs unnecessary, there’s no denying they add to a game’s fear factor. We’d love to see what else The Quarry has in store for avid horror gamers.

The Quarry releases on June 10, 2022. It will be available on the PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and the PC.

Kath is just a small-time gamer with dreams of getting a simulator game that's like Sims 4, Stardew Valley, and Animal Crossing all rolled into one. In their spare time, Kath hosts streams with friends while playing online multiplayer games like Valorant and Call of Duty. There isn't any type of game Kath shies away from... except if it's a horror game. Make Kath choose between eating a ghost pepper or playing Outlast and they'll endure the pain that comes with eating a ghost pepper. At the moment, Kath is getting lost in the world of Teyvat with Raiden Shogun, Zhongli, and Venti on their current team. Instead of going for the meta, Kath's main goal in Genshin Impact is to have all the Archons on her roster. Ask Kath what Genshin Impact is and prepare yourself for a very lengthy and detailed conversation about the open-world RPG. Aside from gaming, Kath also likes to dabble in playing music and some creative writing. With all of these hobbies and interests, it's a surprise Kath still gets bored from time to time.
