The Seven Deadly Sins Anime Sequel

The Seven Deadly Sins is set to receive a TV anime adaptation as a sequel. Recently, some fans have found a recent Amazon listing for this year’s 24th issue of Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine. The magazine features a cover image showing the Seven Deadly Sins sequel manga receiving a TV anime adaptation. The magazine also released new art which showcases the sequel show’s protagonist. The mainline series of The Seven Deadly Sins got closed last year and since then everyone was waiting for Nakaba Suzuki’s ongoing sequel.

In case you didn’t know, the original Seven Deadly Sins anime premiered in 2014. A-1 Pictures produced the first two seasons of the show. They are the same studio behind the series such as Sword Art Online, 86 Eighty-Six, and Kaguya-sama: Love is War too. Production on all of the following animated entries in the series was produced by Studio Deen. The anime was streamed exclusively on Netflix and licensed for international release by Funimation.

The Story

This series sequel, Four Knight of the Apocalypse tells the story of Percival. He is a young hero who goes on his own journey 16 years after the original series finale. Percival learns he is fated to become one of several knights fabled to destroy the world. The Kingdom of Camelot even puts a bounty on him for this exact reason. To change his fate, Percival then travels the world to find his three destined companions. On his journey, he also runs into several familiar faces.

There are even a few Seven Deadly Sins video games. Currently, Netmarble’s Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is set to release soon. The game is the sequel to The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross. Currently, the game is set to be released on PC, consoles, and even smartphones too. The game is an action role-playing game, set in a multiverse-based story with a new protagonist, following the original plot of Grand Cross.

It will have the players controlling an open-world setting, where they’ll be controlling Meliodas and his companions. The developers have said that each character in the game will have their own unique set of abilities that will help the player in their exploration. While Netmarble hasn’t given a confirmed release date for the game yet, we could be seeing another announcement this year itself.
