The TIGA Awards 2018 Winners Announced; Avakin Life Wins GOTY

The winners for the annual TIGA Games Industry Awards have been announced. From Sony Interactive Entertainment for God of War to Ninja Theory for Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, a number of deserving studios have been awarded for their commendable works.

TIGA is the trade association that represents the video games industry and the network for gamers developers and digital publishers. This year’s awards ceremony was their biggest, which held at Guildhall, London yesterday.

Of all the notable awards, Lockwood Publishing was honoured with the Game of The Year award, sponsored by Google, for their mobile game Avakin Life – 3D Virtual World.

Google Director of Product Management Matt Henderson said, “The UK has tremendous game development talent, as evidenced by the high standard of Avakin Life and the many great entries. In the 10 years since Android launched, it’s amazing how far mobile gaming has come, and at Google, we are proud that so many innovative and entrepreneurial game developers are using Play and Android to reach a global audience.”
