Tiny Puppy Bowl Star Sweetpea’s Inspiring Story Lives On
Sweetpea, the cute Cavapoo puppy that won hearts at this year’s Puppy Bowl, sadly crossed the rainbow bridge only a few weeks after filming. She had a brief life, but the people she touched were forever changed.
Born with Challenges but Full of Spirit
Sweetpea was born in July 2023 with a heart abnormality and hydrocephalus. She was sent to Bosley’s Place, a refuge for abandoned newborn puppies, where she was struggling for her life.
Despite Sweetpea’s medical issues, the rescue founder, Jennifer Siegel, committed herself to providing her with the best life possible.
Puppy Bowl Star
Sweetpea made history in October 2023 by being the Puppy Bowl’s lightest contender ever, weighing only 1.7 pounds. Millions of spectators found her charming as her lively demeanor and fierce determination captivated the stage.
- Even after filming, Sweetpea continued to spread joy. She participated in Bosley’s Place fundraising event, charming everyone with kisses.
- Sadly, Sweetpea’s renal problems caused her untimely passing a few weeks later while she was traveling to the clinic.
