Ubisoft today announced details of the first downloadable episode of The Division 2. As part of the free content of “Year 1”, “Episode 1 – Washington’s Suburbs: Expeditions” will shift the fight outside the streets of Washington DC. The content provides new places to explore and picks up where the story ended after the final boss of “Tidal Basin”. “Episode 1” will be released together with “Expeditions” on July 23, 2019, for all holders of the “Year 1” pass and on July 30, 2019, for all other players. Episode 1 takes players on two new main missions and new gaming experience around Washington DC, where they investigate the fate of a lost convoy and encounter unexpected threats.
TWO NEW MAIN MISSIONS
- Camp White Oak: Division agents are conducting a well-planned attack to bring treacherous President Andrew Ellis to justice.
- Manning National Zoo: Emeline Shaw, leader of the outcasts, fled after her defeat in DC and now resides at the zoo to regain her former strength. The agents are on the hunt to eliminate Shaw by stifling the reawakening of the outcasts.
NEW EXPERIENCE: EXPEDITIONS
In this new experience, players enter Kenly College, where contact with a military convoy of vital goods is broken off. When they receive a seemingly final message, they form an expedition to find all the surviving members who need to be rescued. The expeditions are divided into three different units that the players have to complete. Each unit will have a specific theme and appear weekly. Completing all three units gives access to an exclusive Treasury of Rewards.
NEW WEAPONS AND EQUIPMENT
- An exotic weapon: diamond rattlesnake rifle
- An exotic piece of equipment: BT data gloves
- Two weapons: Stoner LMG and Carbine 7
SECRET CONTRACTS
Agents can take on two new secret assignments at the Central Aquarium in Washington and at NSA Site B13 (Exclusive to holders of the Year 1 Pass only).
NEW DISCOVERY DIFFICULTY LEVEL FOR OPERATION DARK HOURS RAID
The new Difficulty level, along with the matching matchmaking option, allows players to experience The Division 2 in its entirety. While the Exotic Prey of Operation Dark Hours remains exclusive to normal difficulty, agents playing the new difficulty level can expect a variety of big rewards while training for normal difficulty.
OTHER IMPROVEMENTS
Players can now assemble their equipment up to the equipment score of 500 and exchange blueprints between the characters. In addition, handcrafted weapons can now be recalibrated.
WEAPON BALANCE AND STRENGTHENING EFFECTS FOR SKILLS
In response to the community feedback and part of the ongoing updates, they introduced the weapon balance and strengthening effects.
The future of The Division 2 sounds exciting, are you ready?
