Upgrading and Customizing Brooms in Hogwarts Legacy: A Simple Guide

Hogwarts Legacy has been one of the most highly anticipated games of recent years, and it certainly doesn’t disappoint Harry Potter fans. One of the most thrilling activities in the game is flying, and you can pick up your very own broomstick to soar around Hogwarts and beyond. In this guide, we’ll take you through the steps to get your broom, upgrade it, and customize it to your liking.

How to Get Your Broom in Hogwarts Legacy

Complete Flying Class

Before you can purchase a broom, you’ll need to complete your first day in Flying class and the quest ‘Jackdaw’s Rest.’ Once you’ve done that, head to Spintwitch’s Sporting Needs in Hogsmeade to buy your broom. The available brooms are:

  • Ember Dash (600 Galleons)
  • Hogwarts House (600 Galleons)
  • Moon Trimmer (600 Galleons)

How to Upgrade Your Broom

After purchasing your first broom, Albie Weeks, the owner of Spintwitch’s Sporting Needs, will ask for your help to upgrade brooms. This will unlock the quest ‘Flight Test.’

Flight Test Quest

To complete the quest, meet with Iselda Reyes at the Quidditch Pitch on the Hogwarts grounds. She’ll challenge you to beat her best time in a course around Hogwarts.

  • You’ll need to fly through 22 hoops within the time limit while collecting golden bubbles to increase your speed. Once you beat Iselda’s record, return to Albie with your results, and he’ll send you an Owl Post when your first speed upgrade is ready.
  • There are three upgrades in total, and they are unlocked slowly throughout the main storyline. The cost of the first upgrade is 1,000 Galleons.

How to Customize Your Broom in Hogwarts Legacy

  • There are 13 broom appearances in total, and while some cost more than others, all brooms have the same stats. You can unlock different brooms by progressing through the main storyline or completing balloon challenges.
  • Albie’s shop will have the original five, and the other eight can be found elsewhere. You can also buy brooms from other shopkeepers, but some may require completing quests beforehand.
  • Here are all the brooms, where to find them, and how much they cost:
    1. Aeromancer – Rohan Prakash (3,000 Galleons)
    2. Bright Spark – Balloon Challenge (Pop 32 balloon sets)
    3. Ember Dash – Albie Weeks (600 Galleons)
    4. Family Antique – Priya Treadwell (2,500 Galleons)
    5. Hogwarts House – Albie Weeks (600 Galleons)
    6. Lickety Swift – Balloon Challenge (Pop 7 balloon sets)
    7. Moon Trimmer – Albie Weeks (600 Galleons)
    8. Night Dancer – Balloon Challenge (Pop 2 balloon sets)
    9. Silver Arrow – Arn (5,000 Galleons)
    10. Sky Scythe – Leopold Babcocke (5,000 Galleons)

    12. Wind Wisp – Albie Weeks (600 Galleons)

Customizing your broom is all about personal preference, and the only difference you’ll see with the brooms is after you’ve upgraded them. So pick your favorite design and soar through the wizarding world of Hogwarts Legacy with your fully customized broom.

Additionally, flying is one of the most thrilling activities in the game, and you can enjoy it to the fullest with your new broomstick.
