ASEC, a group of Korean cybersecurity analysts discovered a Valorant “cheat” that is actually a virus. The video posted two weeks ago briefly shows viewers that they’ll only have to install a small file to have perfect aim. But what they don’t know is that this cheat file is actually RedLine, a malware virus that steals its victim’s information.
What is aimbot?
Anybody who’s tried playing multiplayer shooting games like Valorant is familiar with what aimbots can do. Because of Valorant’s competitive environment, some players turn to cheating by using aimbot so they could rank up easier.
Furthermore, headshots can easily eliminate enemies in Valorant compared to spraying your bullets onto incoming enemies. Thus, there are those who choose to install cheats instead of practicing their aim.
The virus pretends to be an aimbot for Valorant
The cheat claims to only be an add-on to the base game. What it requires players to do is to turn off their antivirus detection program when running the .exe file. In addition to that, it poses as an aimbot file, meaning players who use it won’t have to worry about having poor aim when playing.
If you download and run this virus, it’s likely to get your computer infected with malware. Hackers can steal and use your personal information. ASEC adds that, “The attacker creates a compressed file of the stolen information above and sends it to themselves via Discord WebHooks API.”

Valorant is hard, but it’s more fulfilling to play if you don’t use cheats
It’s best not to download any third-party software that allows cheats like aimbot, map hacks, or even infinite ammo. Plus, cheating takes the fun out of winning so it’s better to keep practicing if you’re struggling with your aim.
And by using cheats in the game, it ruins the experience for the other players. Just keep practicing and we know you’ll be great at aiming soon enough.
