An independent game development studio called Fumi Games is currently developing an upcoming first person shooter game simply titled ‘MOUSE.‘ It has no specific release date as of now. MOUSE has a delightful retro cartoon aesthetic known as the rubber hose art style similar to what we saw in Cuphead. This animation style takes inspiration from beloved classics like Mickey Mouse and other vintage Disney animations.

The game features private detective John Mouston as the playable character. The simple yet captivating storyline of MOUSE revolves around an adrenaline-pumping adventure as players delve into the depths of a dangerous and morally compromised city.
The city is filled with unfaithful people (mice) who might betray you. To stay safe, you have to be alert and think carefully equally. As you explore the city, you will learn more about the story and get involved in a lot of lies and killings.
Gameplay and Mechanics
You will have access to different types of old-fashioned guns and explosives from the mid-1900s, such as the Revolver, Tommy Gun, Hammer, Carcano, and Dynamite. With these weapons, you can fight enemies in whatever way you prefer.
You can run and shoot, jump and dodge, or carefully plan your attacks. Basically, the game gives you the freedom to choose your combat style.
- Even the guns might feel like characters that are not bound by the rules of realism to give players an amazing fun gaming experience.
There is also a power-up system called Fantastic-o-Matic that allows you to upgrade your weapons and abilities.
- You can find special vending machines in the city where you can get power-ups. They will make you even more powerful and deadly.

- Multiplayer mode: It is indeed true there is a multiplayer mode in MOUSE that allows players to engage in gunfights. There’s no doubt that this feature will be amazing. But what players want is a split-screen multiplayer mode where they can have more fun playing couch co-op with family and friends.
- Improved animation: While it is seen that the rubber hose-styled animation is loved by many people, others think that there is still room for improvement in certain aspects of the visuals.
Other features/improvements might include a bigger map, more variety of weapons, more playable characters, etc. It is noteworthy that there are no complaints regarding this indie game yet because of the uniqueness it brings to the table.
