Moroccan footballer Achraf Hakimi and his divorce settlement saga involving his ex-wife Hiba Abouk has gone viral on social media. The Paris Saint-Germain star and the actress who is 12 years older than him, are getting a divorce. They both come from Spain and have two sons together, but they went their separate ways earlier this year.
Reports suggest that they had split up when Hiba didn’t defend her husband publicly after he was accused of rape in February. As a part of the divorce settlement, Hiba Abouk was asking for half of Achraf Hakimi’s money. However, she was surprised to find out that he didn’t have any assets in his name. It turns out that Hakimi’s mother has been receiving his money for years.

This year, Hakimi was accused of raping a woman in his house in a Paris suburb on February 25. French prosecutors started an investigation. He said that he was being “racketeered,” but Hiba didn’t defend him publicly. After a month, Hiba released a statement saying that she and Hakimi had separated “long before” the allegations were made.
When Hiba Abouk tried to claim half of Achraf Hakimi’s fortune in the divorce settlement, she was in for a surprise. It turned out that Hakimi did not ‘own’ any assets and had registered most of his wealth in his mother’s name.

The discovery went viral on social media with personalities like UFC star Israel Adesanya and Andrew Tate voicing out their support for Hakimi.
Despite this news causing a stir in different countries, Hiba Abouk is not in a difficult financial situation as she has her own wealth. However, reports suggest that she may have to share half of her fortune with Hakimi instead. This has led to positive reactions towards the footballer on social media.

Hiba has lots of fans in Spain, where she is well-known as an actress and influencer on Instagram, with 1.3 million followers. Hiba’s parents are from Tunisia, and they moved to Spain. She is the youngest of their four children.
She went to the Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático in Madrid, where she studied Arabic philology and drama. In 2008, Hiba appeared in just one episode of a TV show called El síndrome de Ulíses. But it was her leading role in the Spanish crime drama El Principe that made her famous.

She met Achraf Hakimi, who was playing for Real Madrid at the time, at a photoshoot for Vogue Arabia in 2018. They made their relationship public at a charity event in Madrid in June 2019 and married each other secretly in 2020. They have two sons together.
Hiba Abouk featured on the cover of Vogue Arabia in October of last year. A few months later, Achraf Hakimi’s Moroccan team made history by being the first African side to reach the World Cup semi-finals.
