Will Smith finally broke his silence over Jada Pinkett Smith’s several claims about their marriage. While promoting her new memoir, Worthy, the actress revealed she and her husband of 26 years had been separated for the last seven years and even answered several questions about their romance. With all these revelations, Will admitted her controversial book “woke him up.”

In an email to The New York Times, the actor explained that being with someone for more than half of his life had set in “a sort of emotional blindness.” “And you can all too easily lose your sensitivity to their hidden nuances and subtle beauties,” he said.
With Jada’s claims about them, the 55-year-old had “kind of woke up” and noticed his so-called wife had become more “resilient, clever, and compassionate” than he thought. But these weren’t the only things that Will had said.
In a separate letter read on a new episode of On Purpose with Jay Shetty, where Jada recently guested, the award-winning star also shared his reaction to her book. After turning Worthy’s final page, he said he was still stunned by everything she had revealed despite living most of his life with her.

He was also shocked, caught off guard, laughing, inspired, and heartbroken all at the same time, as his feelings had put him all over the place. “It’s one thing to hear anecdotes at a family barbecue, but it was truly overwhelming to take in your story, potently condensed in this way,” he continued.
But despite everything, Will praised Jada, describing her as a “rare blend of power and delicate sensitivity.” And as an author of his own memoir, Will, himself knew it wasn’t easy to dig the depths the way she did, so he was honoring and applauding her.
Hence, he wanted to give her a hug as he welcomed her to the authors’ club. “I love you endlessly. Now go get some Merlot and take a rest,” he ended his note.
With Will’s reaction, Jada couldn’t help but laugh and said it was the very reason she couldn’t divorce “that joker.”

His statement about the issues has no hints of hatred. Despite the people’s reactions, he’s not even mad for saying what she feels. He even managed to break the ice, deliver a joke, and make fun of it. True enough, these may be the reasons why Jada can’t let him go.
Being together for 26 years isn’t a joke, let alone staying together despite being separated for years. This just means that no matter what they have been and are going through, they always choose to be at each other’s side.
