A horrific story of brutality and cruelty has rocked the peaceful streets of Oxford. 25-year-old Scarlet Blake has been found guilty of horrific acts.

TRIGGER WARNING: This article contains information that may be upsetting for some.

Descent into Darkness

Blake was drawn to the Netflix documentary “Don’t F*** With Cats,” he decided to imitate the main character, Luka Magnotta, who gained notoriety for recording the mistreatment and killing of kittens. Blake performed the macabre dissection of a family pet live online, copying Magnotta.

Scarlet Blake’s thirst for blood

But Blake’s plunge into darkness didn’t stop there. She set off on a terrifying hunt for blood, driven by her obsession with violence. She was looking for a victim to satisfy her deranged cravings as she prowled the streets of Oxford on a fateful July 2021 night.

Her target? Innocently returning home from a night out with colleagues is 30-year-old Jorge Martin Carreno, a worker at a BMW facility.

  • Tragically, Carreno’s lifeless body was discovered in the River Cherwell at Parson’s Pleasure, setting off a murder investigation that would unravel Blake’s sinister intentions.
  • It was Blake’s former partner, Ashlynn Bell, who bravely came forward with damning evidence, revealing Blake’s confession to the brutal slaying.

Evidence Speaks: CCTV Footage

Despite Blake’s attempts to deny responsibility, the evidence spoke volumes. CCTV footage captured the haunting encounter between Blake and Carreno.

The prosecution painted a vivid picture of Blake’s disturbing interests, showcasing her videos engaging in consensual strangulation and her disturbing commentary during the cat dissection.

Shifting Blame

In a shocking twist, Blake attempted to shift blame onto her ex-partner, claiming that she fabricated details of the murder to appease Bell’s morbid curiosity. Justice did, however, prevail when Blake was convicted of her crimes and had to pay for her premeditated brutality.

Jorge Martin Carreno‘s family is grieving the death of their cherished son and brother as the trial draws to a conclusion. They remember him as a kind, passionate man whose life was cut short. They demand accountability for the senseless crime that robbed them of their loved one.

Detective Superintendent Jon Capps of Thames Valley Police weighs the horrific nature of Blake’s actions after this terrifying experience, and he commits to seek justice and stop such tragedies caused by those driven by evil.
