Global icons like Zendaya, Tom Holland, and Gigi Hadid recently graced the red carpet at NMACC’s grand opening. The star-studded event brought limelight to the Indian film industry and other prominent personalities. The two-day inauguration consisted of dance and musical performances by different Bollywood stars and other renowned artists.Â
NMACC, or The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, is a “cultural space” created to promote Indian art and culture. Located at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai, it comprises of different sections like a grand theatre and an art museum.Â

Nita Ambani is the mind behind NMACC
Mega businesswoman and wife of Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani worked with her daughter, Isha, to create the cultural hub. They aim to provide a stage for artists to showcase their talents and help preserve various Indian art forms.Â
The establishment was inaugurated with a two-day event taking place on March 31 and April 1. Bollywood celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Varun Dhawan performed at the event. Priyanka Chopra, who attended the NMACC event with her husband, Nick Jonas, gave a stunning performance as well.Â
Other major celebrities who attended the event include Tom Holland, Zendaya, Gigi Hadid, Emma Chamberlain, Penelope Cruz, and more.Â
Many other prominent names in the art and fashion industry were present at the gala, along with the entire Ambani family. Nita Ambani performed an Indian classical dance form called Bharatanatyam at the event. She expressed her motivation towards building the project by saying:
“An ode to our nation, the Cultural Centre aims to preserve and promote Indian arts. I hope our spaces nurture and inspire talent, bringing together communities from across India and the globe.”
A breakdown of the grand cultural center
The infrastructure of the NMACC includes a four-story building, along with a large open space and a fountain. There are five different sections at the center:
- The Grand Theatre: A 2000-seat capacity theater perfect for large productions, including shows, musicals, operas, and other performances.Â
- The Studio Theatre: A smaller, 250-seat capacity theater made for small-scale performances and shows.Â
- The Cube: A 125-seater made to conduct workshops and other interactional events.Â
- Art House: A four-story, glass-covered building that houses a plethora of artwork created by different artists. The building offers a great view of the entire property.Â
- Dhirubai Ambani Square: A public space created around the Fountain of Joy. The fountain uses lights and music to offer stunning visuals to the guests.Â
