The extended cut of 2021’s biggest blockbuster Spider-Man: No Way Home is now out on Netflix in select countries. The film’s extended version includes additional scenes and content not shown in the theatrical release. So, how different is the extended cut of Spider-Man: No Way Home from its theatrical version? Read to find out what you may have missed.
Extended cut on Netflix
The extended version of Spider-Man: No Way Home features eleven minutes of new, never-before-seen footage.
- The new scenes showcase fun moments between the three Spider-Men played by Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield having a go at each other.
- Their interactions were a huge hit even in the original cut and it only makes sense that Marvel has added more of these light-hearted moments in the extended cut.
- There are some extra scenes from the beginning of the film as we see Tom Holland’s Peter Parker dealing with high school life after his superhero identity is outed.
- He features in interviews with Betty Brant and some of his school teachers and friends, as we get a deeper look at his secret identity fallout at high school.
New post-credits and Daredevil scene
The original theatrical version of Spider-Man: No Way Home featured a teaser trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, Marvel has replaced it in the extended version with a news broadcast from Betty Brant that recaps highlights from their high school.
- The only difference is Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is missing from all of these clips and pictures. This shows that Doctor Strange’s spell to erase Peter’s existence had worked.
- There’s a new one-on-one interaction scene between Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock and Happy Hogan, played by Jon Favreau. In this new scene, Matt acts as a lawyer for Happy.
How to watch it
Dubbed “The More Fun Stuff Version” of the film, the extended cut was first released in theaters and on DVDs in mid-2022.
- Since Spider-Man: No Way Home is distributed by Sony Pictures, the film as well as its extended version did not arrive on Disney+ right away, unlike other MCU films.

Spider-Man: No Way Home
Spider-Man: No Way Home was a true triumph for fans of both the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as the iconic web-slinging superhero. The film made $1.9 billion at the global box office.
- What makes this film truly special is the way it brings together elements from previous Spider-Man franchises. It marked the first time we saw Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield return as their respective versions of Spider-Man and interact with one another.
- But it’s not just the nostalgia factor that’s making this film a hit. “No Way Home” is a well-crafted film that stands on its own. It’s a movie that delivers on all fronts, providing action, humor, and heart in equal measure.
