2K Games Acquires elite3d and Turia Games

2K Games has acquired two new studios, Elite3D and Turia Games. Both these studios are based out of Valencia, Spain. Elite3D has also been previously linked with 2K Games itself.

An artwork studio specializing in 2D and 3D artwork, elite3d has made contributions to many notable games.

  • Monster Hunter World: Iceborne
  • Hitman III
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • Control
  • Diablo II: Resurrected
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War
  • PUBG

When it was founded in 2005, 2K Games was one of its first partners. The two studios had collaborated on titles such as Motocross Mania 3 and Mafia 3.

Elite3D is reported to be rebranded as two separate divisions. One will serve as the second office for 31st Union, and the other will be to serve as an outpost of 2K Publishing’s global services division. The studio will be in contact with 31st Union and is going to start work on an unannounced AAA title.

“Elite3D has made a significant impact on our industry by helping many developers and publishers bring their games to life through best-in-class passion and creativity. Employee culture and the team’s work style are also a great complement to our vision and values. We look forward to seeing our colleagues contribute to the progress 31st Union has made thus far and play a significant role in the growth and development of Global Services for our current and future games.”
– David Ismailer, President of 2K Games

Turia Games is co-owned by the founders of Elite3D, so it is not much of a surprise that it has been acquired by 2K Games. Not much is known about Turia Games. Moreover, they have been keeping a low profile. In the meantime, the details of the deals have not been disclosed.
