A New Nintendo Switch Model Unveiled, Here Are The Changes
While we are all waiting for Nintendo Switch Lite and a hypothetical Pro model, Nintendo of Japan has announced a new version of the hybrid console we have known for years through its official website. What changes? Basically only the battery life. This new version promises up to nine hours of duration on a single charge.
For the rest, there are no differences in terms of technical specifications or software features. Even on a visual level, the console is completely unchanged. It is the same gaming machine, simply a little more durable in terms of charge. Also the price, in the Japanese version at least, will remain the same.
To give you an idea, according to the Kyoto company, this new Nintendo Switch model will hold up for about 4.5-9 hours of play before having to be recharged, while the basic version allows you to play between 2.5-6.5 hours. Everything obviously depends on the type of game. An example is The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, on the basic version, you can play about 3 hours, on the revised version up to 5.5 hours.
It is not a particularly important change and, simply, the company will stop producing the basic version in favor of this revised, without other changes. A longer lasting battery is certainly not negative, especially for those who wish to be able to continue their domestic sessions even outside.
If instead, you want to play always and only in mobility, Nintendo Switch Lite is then the best model. Tell us, what do you think? Do you prefer the hybrid version, or is the “mini” perfect for you?
