After her stellar performance as CIA Agent Paloma in the latest James Bond movie, No Time to Die, Ana De Armas will be back as another femme fatale in a new upcoming John Wick spinoff – “Ballerina”. The film will be directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld) and the filming will begin shortly this summer of 2022.
In the CinemaCon 2022 held in Las Vegas, Lionsgate productions announced that De Armas will portray the protagonist in this movie. “Ballerina” will highlight the roots of a young assassin as she seeks vengeance against the people who killed her family. We can trace the origin of this story in a scene in John Wick 3: Parabellum, where John Wick visits his former crime family, the Ruska Roma. In there you will see that the ballerinas were not only trained to just dance but also to kill.
Ana De Armas previously worked on some great hits like the Knives Out (2019) and Blade Runner 2049 (2017). Also, her upcoming film will be a biographical flic, Blonde. The movie will be based on the life of the late controversial actress, Marilyn Monroe.
Meanwhile, John Wick: Chapter 4 will finally hit the theaters next year, on March 24, 2023. Now that Ballerina is confirmed, the studio will be completing the John Wick universe with an upcoming prequel, The Continental.
