A fictional story crossovers reality in the upcoming new spy movie Argylle. Matthew Vaughn’s latest film has dropped its official trailer, stunning everyone with the steamy scene between Dua Lipa and the odd-looking Henry Cavill. Argylle Movie Trailer Breakdown
On Thursday, September 28, AppleTV+ and Universal Picture dropped the official trailer for Argylle. It started with a tense musical score that saw a blonde Dua Lipa telling Cavill that she hoped she could dance well the same way he dressed. The Witcher actor is undoubtedly up for the challenge, saying, “There’s only one way to find out.”
The dance music begins as they take the floor. But something surprising happens when the singer calls Cavill “Agent Argylle” as everyone around them holds him at gunpoint. He then asks John Cena for a bit of help that sees him escape. From there, a quick, action-packed turn of events begins.
And as just everyone is already getting into it, the preview reveals nothing is true, as those scenes come from a book by the author Elly Conway (Bryce Dallas Howard). As her mom (Catherine O’Hara) waits for the following sequences, it’s later revealed that someone’s trying to haunt Elly as her novel depicts real-life criminal events. Thankfully, she gets a chance encounter with a stranger, who happens to be her spy protector, Aiden (Sam Rockwell).

What is Argylle’s Plot?
From the creative minds of Vaughn, known for his great spy movies, Argylle follows the story of Elly, a famous spy novel writer. Despite living an introverted life, mostly staying at home, she’s about to experience chaos after meeting a stranger, Aiden, on the train. From there, she gets unknowingly involved in the world of spies and murders, which she has never thought would happen.
As it turns out, her book has accidentally referenced real events of spy missions. Of course, this gets the spies’ attention, including Argylle and the villainous figure, played by Bryan Cranston.

Elly Conway, an introverted spy novelist who seldom leaves her home, is drawn into the real world of espionage when the plots of her books get a little too close to the activities of a sinister underground syndicate. When Aiden, a spy, shows up to save her (he says) from being kidnapped or killed (or both), Elly and her beloved cat Alfie are plunged into a covert world where nothing, and no one, is what it seems.

When will Argylle be released?
Argylle will hit the theaters on February 2, 2024. It will also be released at a later date on AppleTV+.
