BCCI had received much outrage on social media for hosting the test series against Sri Lanka behind closed doors. Everyone was eagerly waiting to watch Virat playing his 100th test. But due to Covid-19 protocols, BCCI was not allowing an audience in the stadium. Now the Covid-19 cases have shown a dip.
So, at last, BCCI has allowed 50% audience capacity for Virat Kohli’s 100th test, which will be held at Mohali from Friday. Punjab Cricket Association (PCA), treasurer, RP Singla, confirmed that the Test match will be held at 50% stadium capacity.

Moreover, BCCI secretary Jay Shah has also confirmed this saying that the momentous occasion of Kohli’s 100th Test match will not be behind closed doors.
The PCA stadium in Mohali has a seating capacity of 25000. Thus 12500 fans will be allowed inside the stadium across the five days of the test match.
Virat Kohli, the run machine, will be playing his 100th test on March 4th against Sri Lanka.
Kohli made his Test debut for the Indian team way back in 2011 in the West Indies. His journey so far has been fantastic and entertaining.
He is the most successful test captain for India. He took the Indian team to the top of the ICC test rankings. A few years ago audience doesn’t visit the stadium to watch test matches because it seems boring. But Kohli made test matches interesting.
Now test matches are more interesting than ODI and T20 matches. However, in the last couple of years, he has failed to score a ton with fans hoping that his 100th game will see him find his old lost form. In 99 Tests, Kohli has notched 7,962 runs at an average of 50.39 with 27 tons and 28 half-centuries. Let’s hope that Virat Kohli will score a ton on his 100th test.
